Zibo city in East China's Shandong province on July 8 launched a series of measures to boost the city's nighttime economy, including strengthening its assurances on quality services and enhancing food safety supervision.

It aims to beef up protection of consumer rights and ensure worry-free and convenient shopping. Under the plan, each district and county in Zibo will develop at least one worry-free nighttime retail shopping demonstration area within the year.

To better supervise the quality of services, plans are to set up over 10 service stations to handle consumer complaints in the nighttime shopping demonstration areas and contact details for public complaints will be posted at prominent places.

To ensure and prioritize food safety, media representatives and Zibo locals will be invited to participate in on-site supervision and stall inspections.

It is believed that only through safe eating and worry-free shopping can Zibo ensure that locals and visitors have a great experience and the city displays its late-night charms in the best light.
