The foreign affairs office of Zibo city – located in East China's Shandong province – signed a friendly exchange agreement on Sept 3 with the Qilu Culture Promotion Association of Malaysia via an online meeting, in an initiative that is expected to promote the Qi culture to go global.
Zibo is the birthplace of Qi culture and the capital of the ancient Qi state, which was one of the most powerful states during the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) and the Warring States Period (475-221 BC).
Bi Xuefeng, the dean of the Qi Culture Research Institute, presented a talk outlining Qi culture.
Chen Zhinian, president of the Qilu Cultural Promotion Association of Malaysia, introduced Klang city, located on the country's west coast in Selangor state and the local Lincoln University Research Institute.
The parties agreed to strengthen contacts and communications and work together, to promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between Zibo and Malaysia, especially in the promotion of Qi culture.
It is understood that both will give full play to the role of the Qilu Culture Promotion Association as a bridge to Malaysia, exploring various exchange activities to promote China-Malaysia friendship and cultural exchanges.
On the same day, the municipal association for friendship with foreign countries and the Qilu Culture Promotion Association of Malaysia, the Qi Culture Research Institute and the Lincoln University Research Institute signed agreements on-site and online.
