The city of Zibo in East China's Shandong province will host the 21st China International Ceramics Exposition from Nov 29 to Dec 6, officials announced at a news conference on Nov 23.
This year's ceramics expo will reach a new level with more exhibitors, ceramics masters and manufacturers on hand.
There will be five halls at the event, which will have an exhibition area of more than 30,000 square meters. Over 200 exhibitors and 300 national and provincial ceramic masters will participate and ceramics manufacturers from China's six main producing areas will show their wares.
"This year's expo has many 'first-time' highlight activities which will surely be special, storytelling and dynamic," said Zhao Peng, director of the city's traditional industry development center.
For the first time, Zibo secured the right to host the national finals for the ceramic applique and ceramic decoration trades. Ninety-one outstanding anticipators from 12 provinces – including Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Fujian provinces – will compete on Nov 28.
It will also be the first time that Zibo has been involved in a national tour of ceramic exhibits. On Nov 29 the national exhibition, Zibo stop, will be in Hall B (Ceramics Hall) and more than 400 exquisite pieces will be on show.
This year's expo will feature live-streaming and interactive sessions involving online users, with 20 live-streaming rooms set up for the event.
