The city of Zibo in East China's Shandong province is striving to develop its top four industries – new materials, intelligent equipment, new medicine and electronics information. It is accelerating the transformation and upgrading of traditional established competitive industries such as chemicals, building materials, textiles, light industry, ceramics and colored glazes. Moreover, it is optimizing and improving its technical workmanship, expanding its production system, and improving product quality. It is also building out its industrial supply chain, promoting general economic benefits and helping to galvanize various key areas such as technology, talent, funds, policies and services in order to attract major industry.
Projections are that by 2025, the added value of the top four industries will account for about 50 percent of the proportion of the city's large-scale industrial added value. By then, Zibo will have gone a long way to building itself into a national, new-type and powerful industrial city.
