The folks in Zibo city – located in East China's Shandong province – are quite literally spoilt for choice when it comes to watching lantern shows during the upcoming Spring Festival.
Yudai Lake, a tourist destination, has spent over a half year preparing its lantern shows and its proud offering will open to the public from the first day of the lunar calendar.
The light show is divided into five viewing areas featuring: the celebration of Chinese New Year, Qi culture, children's animation world, Liaozhai culture derived from Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio and fantasy lights.

Qilu Happy Waterworld, located in the Zichuan district, is expected to surprise and awe people with its lantern festival and innovative aerial drone performance.
Boshan district in Zibo is also set to entrances its residents with a Bashan Chinese red lantern show – which highlights traditional Chinese classical stories, Bashan cultural attractions and the new traditional Chinese medicine culture.
The second annual lantern show at Zibo Overseas Chinese Town, set to light up Zibo on Lunar New Year's Eve, is expected to welcome hordes of excited visitors.
