Huantai county – administered by Zibo city, in East China's Shandong province – held a signing ceremony on April 28 for 40 projects that will cost a total of 34.1 billion yuan ($5.15 billion), local media reported.
The projects cover such key fields as new energy, new materials, new medicine, environmental protection technology, intelligent equipment and modern agriculture.
These are said to be particularly in tune with the current industrial development direction of Zibo.

Moreover, a hydrogen energy industrial park project being developed by Qingdao Tongqinghu Hydrogen Energy Technology Co Ltd started construction on the same day.
Zibo currently ranks seventh among the top 15 hydrogen demonstration cities in China.
The construction of the Tongqinghu (Zibo) Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park is expected to help the city's hydrogen energy industry enter a new stage of clusters and diversified development.
