The third Qi Mugwort Cultural Festival kicked off in Zibo city – located in East China's Shandong province on May 29 – and will run until June 1.
The mugwort is an aromatic herb that is often used to treat asthma, inflammation and infections. It is also an edible wild herb thought to prevent toxic insect bites.
Xihe town in Zichuan district, administered by Zibo, has been engaged in mugwort cultivation and related industries in recent years and the festival is being held at the Qi Mugwort health cultural industrial park in town.
During the festival, events such as mugwort product sales and displays, mugwort picking, as well as demonstrations of making mugwort handicrafts are being offered to visitors.
An expat from the United Kingdom, who is interested in the mugwort, participated in the festival. Let's check out this video and learn more about Zibo's mugwort culture with him.
