A big shopping promotion called the 2022 Zibo Consumption Season – the Home Appliance Consumption Festival – kicked off on June 8 in Zibo city, in East China's Shandong province.
The local commerce bureau said that in the year to date Zibo has introduced a series of policies to boost retail spending and more than 70 million yuan ($10.5 million) of vouchers have been issued for household appliances, automobiles, wholesale products, retail goods, accommodation, catering and in other fields.
From June 12 to Sept 30, discount shopping vouchers worth 1.5 million yuan will be issued to members of public. More than 200 resident companies are participating in the latest shopping season, covering all aspects of residents' lives.
Some 10-million-yuan worth of home appliance vouchers will be issued in two tranches on the UnionPay app. The first was issued at 10 am on June 9 and the second will be issued at the same time on June 20.
Car discount coupons have been issued since May 22. Discounts are being offered for different models, ranging up to 6,000 yuan.
