To honor the Cultural and Natural Heritage Day that's celebrated every year on June 11, Zichuan district – administered by Zibo city in East China's Shandong province – held an event on June 9 in the Qishan Scenic Area to showcase its handicrafts and tourism.
The skills behind making tiger-headed shoes and hats, woodcut paintings, Zichuan paper cutting and a dozen other handicrafts went on display.
The Qishan Scenic Area also signed strategic cooperation agreements with inheritors of the Zibo ceramics-firing technique and Shandong inside-painting art, a technique used to paint the inside of a bottle. It originated more than 200 years ago in Zibo, which is known as China's capital of ceramics.
