Zibo in East China's Shandong province and Bratsk in Russia, on June 29 held an online video event to celebrate the 15th anniversary of becoming sister cities.
The two established friendship ties in 2007 and they also celebrated the deeper cooperation in various areas that has developed between them.
During the ceremony, the leaders of both sides looked back on the years of fruitful exchanges and the economic and commercial development of the two cities.
Both of them proposed extending the ties of friendship over the long term and increasing reciprocity and cooperation in a variety of fields.
In addition, municipal departments from the two held planning talks on future themed activities and youngsters from the cities gave performances singing Chinese and Russian songs.
Zibo and Bratsk will continue to conduct exchanges in culture and tourism and further explore practical cooperation in all areas in the future.
Bratsk is situated in the northwest of Irkutsk Oblast, in eastern Siberia. It covers an area of 4.28 million square kilometers, with a population of 236,000.
It is a modern industrial center in eastern Siberia and an important communications center connecting Europe and Asia, with developed infrastructure and great potential in resources and in economic development.
