The Sino-German Joint Laboratory of Advanced Ceramics Materials was officially launched by owner and operator Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research & Design Institute Co Ltd in Zibo city – based in East China's Shandong province – on July 12.

The Sino-German laboratory is expected to expand cooperation between China and Germany in the advanced ceramics industry. It will aim to improve research of advanced ceramics materials in Shandong province and promote the in-depth technological innovation of the advanced ceramics industry in Zibo.
Shandong Industrial Ceramics Research & Design Institute Co Ltd, a national research institute, has to date made new breakthroughs in key technologies and new material products. More than 20 ranges of its products have resolved key technical problems that have confronted China.
Plans are for Zibo to support the construction of high-level platforms, breakthroughs in core and key technologies, as well as recruitment, in order to promote the development of these enterprises.
