Located at 37 degrees north latitude – the best latitude for agriculture – Gaoqing's geographical environment and industrial environment have attracted a large number of high-quality agricultural brands.
The black cattle industry is one of them. After years of breeding, the black cattle in Gaoqing have produced high-end products all over the world.
They can weigh up more than 1,000 kilograms, and the quality of the beef can reach international A3 level or above standards. The beautiful marbling and mind-blowing delicious beef produced from black cattle are said to rival Wagyu beef.
The beef in Gaoqing was served at the G20 Hangzhou Summit and the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
Gaoqing nurtured a national-level industrial cluster for the black cattle industry in 2021.
The forum has ramped up support for the development of the black cattle industry in Gaoqing. The government plans to unveil supportive policies on the research and development of the industry, encouraging local enterprises to cooperate with others and provide technical guidance and financial support.
Gaoqing plans to invest 50 million yuan ($7.4 million) to establish a cash pool for the black cattle industry this year, and raise 100,000 head of black cattle by the end of 2022, and 200,000 by the end of 2026.
