The first batch of 18 enterprises and research institutions got the final approval to move operations to Zibo Science City – located in Zibo, in East China's Shandong province – after a review and meeting that was held on July 16.

The group comprises eight research institutions and 10 enterprises – including Boochang Machine – that plan to settle in the east research district of Zibo Science City.
Zibo Science City mainly consists of the east research district, the unicorn ecological island and a technology exhibition and exchange center.
The east research district under construction is a high-level science and innovation platform, with the largest area and what is regarded as the best environment in Zibo. It is expected to become a national demonstration base for entrepreneurship and innovation in emerging industries and a demonstration base that integrates enterprises, universities and research institutes.
"With excellent platforms such as the Zibo Green Chemical and Functional Materials Shandong Laboratory settling there, Zibo Science City deserves praise for becoming a science and technology mecca," said Gai Guosheng, head of the Functional Powder Design and Preparation Technology Research Institute in the Zibo High-tech Industrial Development Zone, who is also a professor at Tsinghua University.
Zibo Science City is accelerating the construction of its service system that integrates admittances, service supplies, intelligent services and inspections.
It will provide services for the settled enterprises to promote regional development in science and technology.
