Zibo city – located in East China's Shandong province – held a launch event on Aug 28 to celebrate the start of construction of 220 major projects in the third quarter with a combined cost of 129.5 billion yuan ($18.72 billion).
Among the projects, 107 were industrial projects with a total investment of 47.2 billion yuan. Zibo's four strong industries – new materials, intelligent manufacturing, new medicines and electronics information – are behind 74 projects, with a total investment of 27.8 billion yuan.
There were also 24 modern service projects, 45 energy and infrastructure projects and 44 projects to revitalize the rural areas and improve people's lives.
There were four projects valued at over 5 billion yuan, 11 projects valued at 2-5 billion yuan, 15 projects valued at 1-2 billion yuan, while 43 projects were valued 500 million yuan to 1 billion yuan.
