The city of Zibo, Zhangdian district, in East China's Shandong province, held a video conference on Jan 18 with Beshkent in Uzbekistan's Qashqadaryo region to promote practical exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.
During the meeting, Zibo and Beshkent introduced themselves and conducted in-depth communication and exchanges on cooperation in various fields such as economy and trade, industry, agriculture, education, and tourism. The two sides have reached a preliminary intention to establish a friendly and cooperative city relationship between Zhangdian district and Beshkent.
Beshkent is situated in the Qarshi district of the Qashqadaryo region and is known for its thriving industrial, agricultural, and service sectors. The city also boasts abundant mineral resources and popular tourism destinations.
Establishing friendly contacts is of great significance for promoting the "going global" of Zibo enterprises, and for strengthening economic and trade exchanges with countries involved in the Belt and Road initiative.
