Gaoqing county in Zibo, a city in East China's Shandong province, has promoted its development strategies in Jinan, the provincial capital, to seek growth cooperation with the province's capital city, local media reported.
A promotional development meeting was held in Jinan on Feb 16, and during which, Gaoqing county officials unveiled the county's plan to build "five zones", which are the green development pilot zone, the urban-rural integration model zone, the "dual-carbon" life demonstration zone, the quality life pioneering zone, and the innovation and entrepreneurship vitality zone.
The construction of the five zones involve 310 projects with a total investment of 123.2 billion yuan ($17.9 billion) in the fields of industrial development, infrastructure construction, people's livelihood and social undertakings, and ecological and environmental governance.
Since the start of last year, Gaoqing county has closely followed the "five zones" construction plan, which was adopted at the county's 15th Party Congress, and has launched 41 projects with a total investment of 14.68 billion yuan.
In 2022, the regional GDP of Gaoqing county increased by 5 percent year-on-year, 0.3 percentage points higher than that of Zibo city. The fixed asset investment increased by 23 percent year-on-year, and the revenue from the general public budget increased by 8.3 percent year-on-year.
"This project promotion meeting is an important platform for Gaoqing county to dock with the provincial capital's development. It plans to use the momentum to help strengthen the provincial capital to boost the county's high-quality development," said Liu Xuesheng, the Party secretary of Gaoqing county, during the development promotion meeting.
