Geography
The district is located to the west of Zibo city with Zhangdian district to the east. It borders Zichuan district to the south, neighbors Zhangqiu district to the southwest, adjoins Zouping city to the northwest and is adjacent to Huantai county to the northeast.

Transportation
Zhoucun district occupies an ideal geographic position, with a developed transportation system. It is 80 kilometers west of Jinan Airport and 270 km east of Qingdao Port. The district has the Qingdao-Yinchuan Expressway, the Binzhou-Laiwu Expressway, National Highway 309 and National Highway 205, forming a transportation network. The total mileage of highways in the area has reached 691.4 kilometers, with all its villages connected to public transport.
Economy
In 2020, the district's GDP reached 21.54 billion yuan ($3.38 billion). The structure of the three main industries was adjusted to 4.1:43.1:52.8. The public budget revenue was 1.87 billion yuan last year and the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents was 41,694 yuan and 20,371 yuan, respectively.
Administrative divisions
The district consists of five towns – Wangcun, Nanjiao, Beijiao, Mengshui and Shangjia. It also has five sub-districts, a provincial economic development zone and 343 villages.
