A complete industrial chain from robot components manufacturing to integrating robot systems is gradually forming in Zibo city of East China's Shandong province.
Taking the robot industry as a key driver powering the intelligent equipment industrial chain, Zibo is currently home to 13 key enterprises in this area, with total sales reaching 1.04 billion yuan ($146.87) in 2022.
Aubo (Shandong) Robotics Technology Co Ltd, a Chinese collaborative robot (or co-robot) maker, ranks second in the world and first in China in terms of its comprehensive strength in its field.
Its outstanding achievements can be credited in no small part to its independent research and development capability. The RISC-V, an open-source chip architecture, it developed is expected to come into operation this year, which will help break the technology monopolies by foreign countries.

Covering robot parts and accessories manufacturing, production of complete robots, integration of robot systems, robot applications and services, Zibo's robot industry has witnessed cooperative development among different enterprises.
Last year, an integrated circuit materials industry base worth 9 billion yuan settled in Linzi district, which is expected to realize the full industrial chain production and promote the coordinated development of related enterprises.
In addition, Zibo's solid foundation in the manufacturing industry has given birth to the diverse range of application scenarios for robots, covering such fields as automobiles, textiles, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.

Taking Robots from Aubo (Shandong) Robotics Technology Co Ltd as an example, they can serve as intelligent coffee machines, microbial detection machines, agricultural picking machines, assembly machines, and many more practical applications.
Related action plans and guidelines to enhance the robot industry have been issued in Zibo. The city offers 10 percent capital support to robot manufacturers in fixed assets investment, and subsidies ranging from 10 percent to 30 percent for local enterprises to purchase innovative products from the city's new economy enterprises.
