Xindian sub-district, in Zibo's Linzi district, East China's Jiangsu province, began renovating old residential areas in 2021 to enhance the happiness and satisfaction of local residents.
Renovation of the Changpingyuan residential area is a representative case. Built in 2001, these residential houses faced a raft of problems such as its aging water proof facilities, the lack of a rainwater pipe network, and the lack of activity venues.
After the renovation, the residential area now boasts a property management company, an intelligent security system, fitness and entertainment facilities, and waste sorting facilities.

Renovations were also completed in the Xin'an community in Zibo's Xindian sub-district. The colorfully decorated walls there have since become a photography hot spot, while its quality improvements have improved the living standards of residents.
