Linzi district holds signing ceremony for projects worth $5b

The Linzi district of Zibo city – located in East China's Shandong province – held a signing ceremony on April 15 for 40 projects, whose investment involved a combined 33.88 billion yuan ($5.3 billion).

The projects cover such key fields as intelligent manufacturing, new materials, new energy, new medicine, big data and modern agriculture.

These are said to particularly align with the current industrial development direction of Zibo.

Moreover, an integrated circuits material industry base project developed by CETC North Digital Technology (Shandong) Co Ltd started construction on the same day.

With a total investment of 9 billion yuan, it aims to be an advanced domestic IC new materials production facility. It will rely on advanced projects from the No 12 Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation, or CETC, such as semiconductor ceramic materials and magnetic functional materials.

The first phase of the project is expected to cost 5 billion yuan.
