A special China-Europe freight train loaded with plastic particles, micro-silicon powder and other commodities in 50 containers – with a total value of 12.44 million yuan ($1.86 million) – on June 30 left Zibo railway station bound for Ulaanbaatar, capital of China's neighbor, Mongolia.

This was the first China-Europe freight train to Mongolia to be launched by Zibo city, located in East China's Shandong province. It was scheduled to arrive at its destination via the Erenhot Port border checkpoint in eight days.

To ensure the steady and high-quality growth of the city's foreign trade, Zibo Customs has put on 24/7 customs clearance and inspection services and simplified its procedures. In the first half of the year, the local customs supervised 30 China-Europe freight trains departing from Zibo, with a cargo value of 560 million yuan.

Zibo Customs will also promote the construction of an inland port in the city and build an east-west land-sea international logistics channel – connecting with Qingdao Port and railway port in Zibo – to export more commodities.
