COSMOPlat, an industrial internet platform developed by Chinese home appliance giant Haier Group and Huaguang Ceramics Co Ltd, one of the leaders in its field – based in Zibo city in East China's Shandong province – signed a cooperative agreement on Aug 6 to upgrade the latter's kilns into intelligent kilns.

Zibo launched a digital intelligent management system for its kilns on June 17 and the agreement between COSMOPlat and Huaguang Ceramics is part of that initiative.

Traditional industrial kilns have slowed the pace of the transformation and upgrading of ceramics industry considerably. They are hard to supervise, slow to operate and are energy consuming and environmentally unfriendly.

As a leader in the ceramics industry, Huaguang Ceramics is facing a number of kilns-related problems. The upgrading of its kilns is expected to improve its production efficiency and promote the digitalization of the entire ceramics industry in Zibo.

COSMOPlat will identify the processing parameters on the human-computer control interfaces, exchange data in various forms during the upgrading process and promote visualized management of the enterprise's platform services.

It is expected that the digitalization of the industry's kilns will not only provide enterprises with comprehensive services, but also assist the government in managing the enterprises and promote the development of the city's kiln services system.

"With the example of Huaguang Ceramics, we will promote the upgrading of the kilns in more enterprises and more regions, providing solutions for the intelligent and green development of the industrial kilns," said an executive at COSMOPlat.
