Pu Songling was a Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) writer best known as the author of Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio or Liaozhai Zhiyi. Regarded as an important cultural facility in China and also a major tourist attraction in Zibo city in East China's Shandong province, the Pu Songling Memorial Hall – or the Former Residence of Pu Songling – aims to protect historical relics and promote the culture of Liaozhai Zhiyi.

It integrates displays and applications, focuses on academic research and highlights cultural accumulation. There are seven courtyards and eight exhibition rooms, covering an area of more than 5,000 square meters and there is a display area of more than 800 sq m.

The facility has developed into a cultural celebrity museum with complete displays and rich exhibits and is considered to be one of the most prestigious tourist attractions in Zibo. The museum receives nearly 100,000 visits from Chinese and foreign tourists every year.

It houses more than 15,000 individual relics, including Class A heritage cultural/property under national protection – such as the portrait of Pu Songling and his manuscripts and seals.
