Geography
Zichuan district is located in the middle of Zibo – a prefecture-level city in East China's Shandong province – with the municipality's Boshan district to the south. To the west, it borders the Zhangqiu district of Jinan city – capital of Shandong – and neighbors the city's Zhoucun, Zhangdian and Linzi districts to the north. To the east, it backs onto Qingzhou city – a county-level city administered by the prefecture-level metropolis of Weifang, in Shandong – and adjoins Weifang's Linqu and Zibo's Yiyuan counties to the southeast.

Economy
In 2020, the district's GDP reached 46.11 billion yuan ($7.24 billion). The added value of the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors were 850 million yuan, 24.31 billion yuan and 20.95 billion yuan, respectively.
The industrial enterprises above a designated size – those with an annual turnover of 20 million yuan or more – achieved total main income of 32.96 billion yuan and 2.56 billion yuan, respectively.
Total imports and exports last year hit 6.64 billion yuan, while the general public budget revenue was 3.35 billion yuan and per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents was 43,580 yuan and 20,723 yuan, respectively.
Administrative divisions
The district consists of the an economic development zone and three sub-districts – Banyang, Jiangju and Songling, with nine towns – Hongshan, Kunlun, Shuangyang, Luocun, Zhaili, Longquan, Xihe, Taihe and Lingzi.
