Geography
Gaoqing county is located to the north of Zibo city. The north and northwest of Gaoqing county meet the Bincheng district and Huimin county of Binzhou city across the Yellow River. It borders Boxing county and Bincheng district to the east and northeast. The southern area faces Zouping city and Huantai county across the Xiaoqing River.
Culture
Gaoqing county is influenced by Taigong culture – which is about Jiang Shang, also known as Jiang Taigong, a famous sage during the Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC) – as well as spirit culture and the hot springs culture.

Administrative divisions
In 2020, the county consisted of seven towns – Qingcheng, Gaocheng, Heilizhai, Tangfang, Changjia, Huagou and Muli. It also had two sub-districts – Tian town and Luhu town – and one provincial-level economy development zone.
