The residents of Zhangdian district in the city of Zibo – located in East China's Shandong province – gave an emphatic thumbs-up to the New Year's Eve entertainments and activities held from Dec 31 to the early hours of Jan 1.
The activities showcased Zhangdian's booming night economy and the youth and vitality of the district.
Prior to the event, Zhangdian released a top 10 recommendations list and a map for residents to explore the charms of the "Five Good City" – meaning the area as a great place for studying, sightseeing, tasting delicious food, having fun and embarking on business startups – which proved more than enough to keep people busy on the night.

"I watched Zibo's New Year's Eve livestreaming broadcast and felt that the city is very vibrant and fashionable. I am getting more and more obsessed by the place," said China-savvy expat Ollie.
Qingluli, a music-themed grilled fish restaurant listed in the "Five Good city" recommendations, accepted more than 450 customers on New Year's Eve, 230 percent higher than usual.
During the New Year's Day holiday, different city blocks in Zhangdian district put on various activities that offered vitality and fashion, high-end and cutting-edge fun and frolics, among other things.
