The city of Zibo in East China's Shandong province hosted a city promotional event on June 20 at the Third Qingdao Multinationals Summit, which is taking place in the port city of Qingdao – also in Shandong – from June 20 to 21.
The Third Qingdao Multinationals Summit is part of the country's efforts to accelerate its high-level opening-up and help boost the global economic recovery.
Shandong sealed foreign investment deals worth $15.6 billion for 99 projects in various cities on June 20. Of these, five projects with foreign investment worth a combined $75 million were signed with Zibo. These covered new energy, new materials, high-end equipment, the new generation of information technology, modern logistics and other fields.
Zibo government officials said at the promotional event that the city had fascinating and rich history, unlimited business opportunities, a progressive and dynamic industrial ecosystem and an exceptionally habitable environment.
The city is currently empowering its development in nine areas: industry, science and education innovation, finance, culture, ecology, reforms and opening-up, platforms, people's well-being and government management.
It is widely viewed that this is the best time to do business with Zibo. The city has built new opening-up platforms, international logistics channels and financial capital service systems covering the whole life cycle of enterprises.
In addition, the city has striven to improve its business environment in recent years to ensure that all market players in Zibo can invest, operate and concentrate on entrepreneurship with confidence.
The Zibo government officials eloquently issued an open invitation to people with far-reaching goals and ideals, at home and abroad, to start up a business and invest in the city.
An impressive and diverse group witnessed the Zibo promotion. These included business chiefs, leaders, entrepreneurs and experts and scholars from more than 20 countries. Also among participants were those from regional representative offices in China, representatives of international business associations, more than 80 Fortune Global 500 and leading enterprises, as well as more than 100 well-known local enterprises.
