Mata Lake, located in Zibo city's Huantai county, East China's Shandong province, has achieved a marked improvement in water environment after 10 years of comprehensive administration.

Wunan village, administered by Huantai county – located in Zibo city – is experiencing a resurgence in its courtyard economy and in the craft of weaving in particular, taking locals along the path to prosperity.

In recent years, Huantai county – administered by Zibo city in East China's Shandong province – has been ramping up efforts to promote its agricultural transformation and to develop new agriculture, so as to increase the incomes of locals and improve their lives.

Huantai county – administered by Zibo city, in East China's Shandong province – held a signing ceremony on April 28 for 40 projects that will cost a total of 34.1 billion yuan ($5.15 billion), local media reported.

The projects cover such key fields as new energy, new materials, new medicine, environmental protection technology, intelligent equipment and modern agriculture.

Huantai county – administered by Zibo city, in East China's Shandong province – on Dec 15 installed 50 automated external defibrillators, or AEDs, in public venues with large flows of people.

AEDs are medical devices used to help treat those stricken by a sudden cardiac arrest, often saving their lives.
